With England and New Zealand winning their respective Rugby World Cup 2021 semi-finals against lower-ranked opposition, last weekend’s results from New Zealand did not have any impact on the World Rugby Women’s Rankings powered by Capgemini.

The same was true of Germany’s narrow 12-10 win over Czechia in the Rugby Europe Women’s Trophy and Cameroon’s 8-0 win against the Ivory Coast.

However, Kenya’s 23-3 victory over Uganda in Kampala has led to some movement as well as confirming the Lionesses' place at the top of their Rugby Africa Women’s Cup 2022 group.

The Dennis Mwanja-coached side has climbed two places up the rankings to 25th thanks to the victory, overtaking Madagascar and Colombia in the process.

Uganda’s defeat was not only costly in terms of their Cup ambitions but also in terms of the rankings, the Lady Cranes falling four places to 34th following the defeat on home soil.

Portugal, Denmark, Tunisia and Jamaica are the sides to profit from their demise.

England, New Zealand, Canada and France remain at the top of the rankings in that order, while Germany are still 21st and Cameroon 28th.
