Scotland may not have finished on top at the HSBC Canada Sevens but for Glenn Bryce it was a tournament to remember as the 26-year-old flew departed Vancouver as the DHL Impact Player.

Bryce was a top performer across the weekend, achieving a total score of 61 across the four disciplines of tackles, breaks, offloads and carries. Finishing eight points ahead of Spain's Pablo Fontes, Bryce's key attribute was his carrying ability as he notched up a colossal 34 across the weekend, more than any other player in the top 10. Combined with his strong offloads statistic (10), six breaks and 11 tackles, Bryce clocked up the biggest individual score for a tournament on the 2018 world series.

Elsewhere in the top 10 for Vancouver, second-placed Fontes put in a huge shift in defence with the highest number of tackles (25), while Australi

a's John Porch made the most breaks (nine) and Russia's German Davydov finished the tournament with the most offloads (11).

The overall DHL Impact Player standings after six events make exciting reading as Australia's Ben O'Donnell leads the way with 259 points in total, having won the award in Sydney and Las Vegas. Behind him in second place is Canada's Justin Douglas on 239, followed by fellow Canadian Harry Jones on 219.

The next round of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series takes place in Hong Kong on 6-8 April.
