In further good news for rugby in the USA, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) have become a global partner for Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 and also a premier partner to USA Rugby. UL is now an official sponsor and will be represented on the back of the USA men’s and women’s national team kits.

USA Rugby CEO Dan Payne said: “Establishing themselves as a trusted institution for more than a century, we are excited to align with a universal organisation like UL.

"As a global company with more than 120 years of expertise, UL works with customers and stakeholders to help them navigate market complexity. UL brings clarity and empowers trust to support the responsible design, production, marketing and purchase of the goods, solutions, and innovations of today and tomorrow. UL connects people to safer, more secure, more sustainable products, services, experiences and environments – enabling smarter choices and better lives."

UL President and CEO Keith Williams said: “It will be an incredible honour to see the UL logo displayed on the backs of the kits of so many dedicated and talented athletes. “As a global organisation that prides itself on performance and excellence, this is a great opportunity for us to show our support for such an outstanding organisation that promotes men’s and women’s sport worldwide.”

UL will be presented on the back of the kits worn by the men’s and women’s national teams, both sevens and 15s squads, during a multitude of worldwide matches and events, including the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series. Through the partnership, UL will also be provided IP rights, hospitality at USA Rugby events, exclusive content and branding, along with player access and media inventory.
