Eleven nations are qualified as 'core' teams to play every round of the HSBC World Rugby Women's Sevens Series with the remaining 12th team invited to play at World Rugby's discretion.

From the series, Olympic gold medallists Australia join former champions New Zealand, Canada, England, USA, France, Russia, Fiji and Spain as core sides.

Ireland secured their place on the series throught the Olympic repechage in June, while Brazil qualified through the Olympic Games in August 2016.
