Russia's Alena Mikhaltsova finished Dubai atop the DHL Performance Tracker as her team finished third at the first round of the HSBC World Rugby Women's Series 2016-17.

Mikhaltsova made an impressive 23 tackles over the course of the two days as her side pipped England to claim the bronze medal.

The Russian number four made three line breaks, nine offloads and 20 carries over six games, beating England's Natasha Brennan and Ireland's Lucy Mulhall.

Mikhaltsova had more tackles than any other player, however Mulhall made more carries and England's Jo Watmore was responsible for 15 offloads over the two days. 

Former champions New Zealand sit atop the series standings heading into the next round in Sydney, after they beat Australia 17-5 in a tough final on Friday night.
