FAQS

How do I apply for accreditation?
To apply for accreditation to any of the rounds of the men's or women's HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, contact the respective event media personnel above.

How does the knock-out stage of the men’s competition format work?
The men's and women's HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series now feature gold, silver and bronze medals, introduced for the first time for the 2016-17 season.

At the end of pool play on day one (or two, depending on the event), the teams will be ranked one to four in each pool based on tournament points.

How does the knock-out stage of the women’s competition format work?
At the end of pool play on day one, the teams will be ranked one to 12 based on tournament points.

How does promotion and relegation work?
Promotion to core team status for both the men’s and women’s teams will be determined by the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series in 2020. Relegation from core team status is decided at the end of the season, with the bottom-ranked of the current core teams after the final round losing its ever-present status for the next campaign
