World Rugby has confirmed that the second round of the Women’s Sevens Series will be streamed live from São Paulo, Brazil on 7 and 8 February.

The competition kicks off at the Arena Barueri in São Paulo on Saturday, with New Zealand top of the standings.

Following on from a highly-competitive first round in Dubai in December, where New Zealand beat rivals Australia 19-17 with a last-minute try in the cup final, another titanic battle is anticipated this weekend.

With the Olympic Games the major target on the horizon, this season has an extra edge to it with the top four teams at the end of the series qualifying for Rio 2016.

World Rugby Chairman Bernard Lapasset said: “The prospect of qualification for Rio 2016 has seen competition step up another level in this season’s women’s series.

"New Zealand and Australia played out another classic in the last round in Dubai, but teams like France and Russia really stepped up and across the board, we have seen skill and intensity increase.

“It’s great that rugby fans across the world will be able to watch all the action live on worldrugby.org and join the conversation @worldrugby7s.”
