England retained their Moscow Sevens title in the second round of FIRA's European Grand Prix, beating France 21-15 to maintain their dominance of this season's competition.

Ben Ryan's men won the opening round in Lyon, France in June and top the standings heading into the third and final event, the Odense Sevens in Denmark on 7-8 July.

FIRA's Grand Prix Sevens Series is a precursor to the region's qualifying for Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013.

The final ranking from the three-event Series will determine which 12 teams take part in Europe's Rugby World Cup Sevens qualifier, in Portugal on 20-21 July 2012.

In addition to the 12 nations who have competed in the first two rounds, four more teams - Romania, Belgium, Lithuania, Denmark - compete in Odense to try and book a place in the Portugal qualifier.

England qualify automatically for the 2013 World Cup event, along with defending champions Wales and hosts Russia, but they will want to go one better than their second place Grand Prix Series finish last year, when they finished runners-up to Portugal.
