SECOM was founded in 1962 as the first security company in Japan. In 1966, we developed the first on-line security system for commercial use in Japan and built a country-wide infrastructure.
In 1981, we launched Japan’s first home security system and established a home consumer market. Currently, we maintain contracts with 1,026,000 corporations and 1,211,000 households for a total of about 2,237,000 clients (as of March 31, 2017).
The Social System Industry was announced in 1989. Based on a security network that fosters safety, we are tackling the creation of a new social infrastructure that wholly supports systems and services for security, convenience and comfort.
In addition, our international operations have established offices in 21 countries and territories overseas, expanding into Taiwan, Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines, Laos, India, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Brazil.
