The three pool deciders at Women's Rugby World Cup 2017 have resulted in a shake-up of the top six nations in the World Rugby Women's Rankings.

Three of the four semi-finalists have climbed a place, including four-time champions New Zealand who return to the number one spot after beating Canada 48-5 in their Pool A decider last Thursday.

The win earned the Black Ferns 1.55 rating points, enough to lift them above England who were unable to improve their rating with a 47-26 win over sixth-ranked USA due to the 12.33 points between the Pool B rivals.

France's 21-5 win over hosts Ireland in the Pool C decider has, in tandem with Canada's loss to New Zealand, seen Les Bleues rise to third at the expense of the WRWC 2014 runners-up.

Ireland's loss on home soil has seen them fall one place to their lowest position of sixth with USA the beneficiaries, fifth being the highest the Women's Eagles have sat since the rankings were introduced in February 2016.

One other match had an impact on the rankings, although Spain's 22-8 defeat of Italy wasn't enough to improve their position of eighth. They gained 1.65 points but still sit just under two points behind Australia above them.

Italy remain 11th after that loss, but now little more than a point above Samoa.

The points exchange is doubled during Women's Rugby World Cup to reflect the importance of the event.
