As the teams make the short journey from Paris to London for the last round of this season's HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, we sat down with World Rugby and Fox Australia commentator Sean Maloney to look back on another cracking weekend of sevens rugby. 

"Paris was amazing, it was great to see such good rugby and it was even bigger and better than last year," said Maloney.

Maloney and his colleagues in commentary had a birds-eye view as South Africa wrapped up the series as well as claiming the ninth round of the season.

"Scotland were outstanding and of course they beat the Blitzboks on day one. But you have to remember how good South Africa are - they're unstoppable when they get going. Incredible to see them in full flow."

Scotland had three players in the HSBC Paris Sevens Dream Team, with Jamie Farndale, Mark Roberstson and George Horne impressing at the Stade Jean Bouin. 

"The Scots really showed what they are capable of - Farndale and Robertson were key players at the weekend - and it will be interesting to see if they can win again in London and repeat the success of last year."

But the big story of the weekend was South Africa finally sealing the series win after appearing in eight of the nine finals this season.

"Neil Powell and his side have had an absolutely amazing season and deserve full credit. Players like Werner Kok, Rosko Specman, Phillip Snyman, (Seabelo) Senatla and Chris Dry were just some of the players that stood out this season. Incredible performances."

"Elsewhere, I was really impressed by Samoa.at the weekend. They won in Paris last year and showed some of that form on day one, beating Fiji and then Australia. It was great to see the improvements."

The last round of the series kicks off in Twickenham, London on Saturday morning when Fiji take on Canada. Click here to view the fixtures.
