After being perennial runners-up for the past four HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, South Africa have finally been crowned champions after beating Scotland 15-5 in the Paris final.

In what was their fifth tournament win of the series and eighth final, South Africa got one back on Scotland who had beaten them 19-12 on day one in their first Pool match. A key player,  not just in the final but all during the tournament, was the golden-locked Werner Kok, a player whose work rate is through the roof. Just watch him during the Blitzboks warm ups, it's an intensity rarely seen.

RE:LIVE: Specman scores wonder try
South Africa score an unbelievable try with genius chip and chase from Rosko Specman at the HSBC Paris Sevens.

The World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year 2015, opened the scoring for South Africa in the final and was a constant menace throughout the match, earning him the accolade of HSBC Player of the Final. As the opposition, if you're a second late to the breakdown, you're likely to see Kok running off into the distance having nabbed the ball in the blink of an eye.

As with a number of the players under head coach Neil Powell's guidance, Kok is humble as can be.

"The guys played phenomenally well in the final there," deflecting any praise for his solid string of performances across the tournament. "We had a slow start to the weekend with that loss to Scotland. We had to regroup and learn from our mistakes. Everyone brought that little bit of heart to their performances and that really makes a difference, when you would do anything for the guys beside you. It's a great honour to receive the award, I'm really grateful."

South Africa march onto London and will play USA, Wales and Kenya in Pool A.
